12 Ways to Reclaim Your Energy After a Relationship Ends

Get your energy back after a breakup—because Netflix binges only go so far. From reclaiming your personal space to remembering who you are (hint: it’s fabulous), this checklist helps you move forward without accidentally adopting your ex’s weird habits.

  • Drink water
You cried, you cursed, maybe you even dehydrated. Refill.

  • Unfollow with love
No need to stalk. Unfollowing doesn’t mean you’re bitter. It means you’re brave.

  • Move your body
Dance wildly. Walk slowly. Shake it out. Emotions get stuck in muscles too.

  • Clear your space
Throw out the shirt. Smudge the corners. Change your sheets. Say: “This is my space now.”

  • Cut energetic cords
Imagine a string from your heart to theirs. Gently snip it with light or breath. No anger needed—just sovereignty.

  • Scream into a pillow
    Because… yeah. It helps.

  • Write the unsent letter
Let it pour out. Burn it if you want. Say what needs saying, for you.

  • Claim your mornings
Start one new ritual that’s just for you: tea, journaling, no-phone walk, candle… Choose you daily.

  • Cry it out
Feel it fully. You don’t need to spiritual-bypass your sadness. You’re not weak—you’re releasing.

  • Text a bestie, not your ex
Seriously. Set a 24-hour rule before acting on “the urge.”

  • Revisit who you were before
Look at old pictures, playlists, journals. Re-meet your past self—not to go back, but to remember.

  • Call your energy home
Reconnect with yourself. Breathe, meditate, or simply pause and notice your body and heart.

Need a little extra magic? A shamanic healing session can help snip those leftover energetic cords, so you can finally stop carrying their baggage—and maybe even dance a little while you’re at it.
